THREE MONTHS!!!

How can it be!? The summer is over, Halloween is just around the corner and the baby is 3 months old!! This last month has been full of new and exciting things in the life of Mr. Ezra. He can smile(when he feels like it), grab at toys(when he feels like it), completely hold his head up(when he feels like it), make little baby cooing sounds(when he feels like it) and he can even sleep through the night(..... when he feels like it).
You may be sensing a theme here. Little Ezra is a man with some preference. He is gone from being our "grumpy" baby to being our "bossy" baby. A friend of ours recently said, "he has an air of entitlement about him".... and I fear she is right. We have taken to calling him the Sultan do to this "air of entitlement". He barks and growls to get the attention he thinks he deserves and when we do manage to gain his favor he will grace us with a sweet, heart-melting smile(but just a quick one.... we still have not been able to catch a good one with the camera) and a flutter of the longest eyelashes of any baby I have ever seen.
While Ethan has been busy instructing him in the ways of boy-ness(as mentioned in an earlier post) the (little)girls have been teaching him how to "play pretend". He has become quite good at playing the part of the baby, the bunny, the frog baby, the mermaid baby, the fairy baby......pretty much any character that just has to sit there while the two girls run and fuss about. He usually is quite accommodating  until they start trying to get him to hold props(crowns, wands, swords, barbies), then he tends to put up a fight.
Ezra also got HIS OWN ROOM this month. We moved Ethan into a bigger more "grown-up room" and now Ez is in what Ethan used to call the "jungle boy" room when we first moved here(when he was only 5!). I am so excited to be able to use the room for Ezra and to be able to take advantage of the wonderful jungle mural that Rebecca Burch  painted 5 years ago. The room has been transformed from Ethan's crowed, star-wars poster covered, cluttered 10 year old boy room to a proper nursery, complete with a new and fabulous Ikea crib(thanks Grandpa Roger and Grandma Carol!!!), Ikea bedding, Ikea changing table and Ikea toy box full of baby books and toys. While Ezra has not actually started sleeping in his room.... he seems to enjoy having his own space.....

So.......... onto month 4. Stay tuned for more updates on the life and times of the littlest(but really not that little)porter.

I'm totally jealous of that room! Those leaves would be perfect in my room! Wanna send the decorator over here? ;)
